This leadership stream emphasizes and encourages civic engagement within the Greater Toronto community and beyond to achieve educational, developmental and societal goals. Community Outreach workshops and sessions will encourage the development of a worldly point of view and help “burst the bubble” that surrounds us as university students.
By participating in the workshops, you will become part of a community dedicated to diversity and social change (keep checking here for information about available workshops). Be sure to also check out events throughout the year that feature key leaders in the field. An essential component of community outreach is having an active role within the community.
Experiential learning in the community focuses on enhancing the community within Innis, U of T and our surroundings. This will involve many community outreach initiatives, proposals and event coordination.
Past community outreach initiatives have included a Service Learning Exchange in collaboration with The University of Western Ontario, raising money for Family Housing at U of T, and donation drives. We strive to engage Innis students to help build the Innis community, the University community, and the broader Torontonian and Canadian communities.
