The Innis Cultural Connections Program (ICCP) is an exciting opportunity for new, first-year Innis students like yourself to make diverse friends, build global citizenship skills, and enhance your understanding of other cultures.
The program consists of two major components:
# 1 – Intercultural Connections:
You’ll be connected before school starts with other students interested in building diverse friendships and introduced online by an upper-year student. During the evening on September 1st, you’ll be invited to meet other participants and start orientation having already made a few friends.
# 2 – Intercultural Competencies Certificate:
Take your learning a step further by participating in our Intercultural Learning certificate. By participating in this program, you will deepen your knowledge and build skills related to cultural difference and intercultural communication. Global citizenship skills are highly sought after in both academia and the world of work.
The certificate is comprised of a series of events/workshops that held throughout the year. The schedule for 2020-21 is being developed right now! But here are some examples of the types of events you can expect: skills workshops in communication and learning about Indigenous culture in Canada.
Dates and other details for these events will be announced soon!
