On February 26th from 5pm-7pm, WRiSC, WSCA and ICSS are honoured to be hosting a panel for Black History Month! Our panel will consist of three UofT graduates.
Our first guest speaker is Julius Haag, a PhD candidate whose research focuses on policing, youth crime, systemic racism and terrorism. His dissertation centres on the lived experiences of youth in Toronto in their interaction with police and other law enforcement.
Our second speaker is Janice Asiimwe, a Masters student who completed her degree at OISE. She currently works in the Woodsworth College Office of the Dean of Students and is responsible for programming and student life.
Our third speaker is Mikhail Burke who is a PhD graduate from the school of Engineering. He was also appointed to the role of Dean’s Advisor on Black Inclusivity Initiatives and Student Inclusion & Transition Mentor at U of T Engineering.
